Fun Facts



I thought I'd put together a blog of Fun Facts so I can remember who Noah was at 11 months of age (I can't believe he's almost 1).



  • I know of at least 30 different words and phrases that I know Noah understands

  • He can say 2 words: Uh-Oh, and Ball

  • He signs "more" and "please", but they are exactly the same sign as far as he's concerned!

  • He can point to 3 body parts: Ear, Nose, and "Pee-pee" (Blush. I don't know how he picked up that one first!!!)

  • He "reads" to himself. This is sooo cute! I've tried to get a video of it several times, but each time I try, he gets focused on the camera and stops. It really is priceless though!

  • His favorite place to be at any given moment is Outside. If he even hears a door being opened, he does not walk~he RUNS toward it. He fusses when it's time to come in. As a result of this love of the outdoors, he usually has an assortment of bug bites on him.

  • He makes car noises! He has a little dump truck and a few little cars, and he makes "engine" noises while he plays with them.

  • His favorite food is Macaroni and Cheese, followed closely by Lasagna. He can't get enough!

  • He LOVES dogs of all sizes (and really any animal)

  • He loves trucks and construction equipment (we knew he was a Rowley!)

He loves to be chased! I did catch this on video, and we'll see how it turned out. (It's difficult being the videographer and the chaser!)

He's so adorable! I love hearing a baby laugh like that. :-) Congrats on your new niece. For some reason I really like her middle name, LOL.

Tonight We Babysat Brianne

How's that for a title? Very creative, I know. Let me know if you ever need me to come up with a witticism for you. Totally kidding here! :) Matt and Jen went out on their monthly Date Night, so we got a chance to have Brianne over for the evening. What fun! They don't really play with each other, just near each other. Hopefully that will change. Bathtime! This cracks me up. Brianne dive-bombed a rubber duck! Who knows what Noah is doing. :) So cheesy, this kid! She really, really wanted my camera. So the whole evening went well. Josh helped out, which was unexpected and wonderful. :) After her bath, Brianne was crying (I think she got cold) and I gave her to Josh while I finished up with Noah. Once we got her warmed up, she was fine. She is such a sweetheart, and we look forward to next month when we get her again for an evening. My Gunniwolf

If you've never read it before, The Gunniwolf by Wilhelmina Harper is a great children's story!  You get fantastic onomatopoeia ( what?!   that means words that sound like the noises they describe), beautiful illustrations, and an object lesson in obedience to boot.  PLUS, the kids I know seem to love it.  Bonus. Noah's school put on a literacy parade today, in which the children could dress up as a character from a favorite book. (If you ask me, it was just a chance to let the kids try out their Halloween costumes early. But still.)  Noah immediately wanted to be the Gunniwolf.  Knowing that any wolf costume I could find in the stores would come with a horrible scary face and be at least $10, we made his out of felt and glue for $3.25 with a much friendlier face. So, I have a little wolf on my hands.  And next Wednesday, our church's Patch the Pirate Club will be hosting a Noah's Ark party, where the kids can come dressed as any animal they want.  Gues

Turning It All Over To God

I wanted to get this written while I'm still on this side of the results.  This is a unique place to be--this not knowing.  You want to believe that the Lord will answer your prayer, but you're scared to hope lest those hopes crash down around you in broken shards. I have not been the most stable person over the last week.  One minute I'm convinced I'm pregnant (the progesterone shots alone will do that to you), the next minute I'm convinced I'm not, and already trying not to be too discouraged.  The minute after that I remind myself that these 2 little lives are God's anyway, and I can trust Him to do what is best for me, for my family, and for His glory.  That last thought is the only sane one in the bunch, and is the only one that frees me from the bondage of  What Ifs.  Here are some stabilizing truths that I've had to come back to over and over again, as I turn my mind battles over to the Lord minute-by-minute (second-by-second?).
