Middle of June Hodge-Podge (is that a word?)

In no particular order:

Noah and I went to the park today and there was no one there! It was looking like rain, so I guess no one wanted to chance getting wet. It was much cooler without the sun, though, which is why we decided to go. The pictures above are from today.

Mom Rowley has gone home. She was such a blessing to all of us while she was here. It was nice to have an extra set of hands to help out.

Noah stays dry all day now. He's had one accident in one week, which I don't think is bad at all! We're making progress! And we're saving money on diapers! :)

We're preparing to take a trip North next week to go to my niece Rebecca's wedding. We are excited to go, but dreading the plane ride (at least I am!). Noah still gets to ride on our laps until he is two years old, so lucky us; we get to hold him! For HOURS! ;) We realize we could buy an extra seat for him, but the extra money doesn't excite us. Besides, you can do anything for a few hours, right?

This past Monday, Matt, Jen, Josh, and I were able to go on a double date without the kids! Mom Rowley helped us with that. We went bowling and then out for ice cream. It was extremely fun and extremely weird to be out all four of us together without distraction. Thanks, mom!

Last night at church we kept Noah with us for the whole service, and he sat still and quietly the whole time! I almost cried I was so excited! This is a child who has a hard time sitting for 3 minutes, let alone 30! All I can say is that the Lord must have helped him be quiet, because it was so out-of-character.

The progress on our house is slow but steady. Josh isn't able to devote all his time to it, so we usually only spend a couple days a week over there working. To date, the electrical work is almost complete, as well as the plumbing. All the insulation is in, and some sheetrock has gone up. We've planned out the design for the kitchen and just need to purchase the cabinets and countertops. It's been gratifying to see the project start to take shape.

I'll end on a cute note: Noah calls the restaurant McDonald's, "EatDonalds". As in, "Go to EatDonalds! Get burgers! Fwies!" (that last word is "fries"). It's so cute to hear little children talk!

See what happens when I fail to blog?

Noah good job on the potty training (mom too). Suggestions for the plane ride include - cool snack and drink bottle (fill after you get through security), does he like to color? take a movie to watch on a laptop, also board books are great.
When people ask who Abe looks like i want to say "Noah!" He has much blonder hair than the others and is active and has that same inquisitive face. Makes me think of you guys a lot.

"Hodge-podge" is a word. :-) I'm glad you had a nice vacation. I'm leaving the States tomorrow to return to Guam. Vacations go by too quickly don't they!
