What's Your Name?

Ask Noah what his name is, and he'll shyly say "Yo-ah".

Go figure that he can say "NO!" with absolutely zero difficulty, but yet he calls himself Yoah, as if "Noah" is too hard. He certainly keeps me guessing!

  So, this happened. (This will be my fifty-first explanation, but that's okay!) Seth was riding our one-wheel on Friday. He was admittedly going too fast (the machine was actually beeping at him!) and he fell off, wrecking himself on the asphalt. Besides the mean road rash you see in the picture, he also sprained his left wrist and broke his collar bone on the right side. Broke. His. Clavicle. "What's a one-wheel; is that like a unicycle?" is our most commonly asked question. And since a picture is worth a thousand words, this is a one-wheel:  We are so thankful Seth was wearing his helmet, that I was out for a walk on the same street with him at the time it happened, and that it was not worse.  What I am having a harder time being thankful for is insurance. Our Big God

This is a story all about the miraculous power of our God.  I've been dwelling on Psalm 104 some lately, and yesterday I saw it played out in real life. "[Man and the animals] all wait for You to give them their food in due season. You give to them, they gather it up; You open Your hand, they are satisfied with good. You hide Your face, they are dismayed; You take away their spirit, they expire and return to the dust. You send forth Your Spirit, they are created; and You renew the face of the ground ."  Ps. 104:27-30 Yesterday I had my embryo transfer.  It did not start out on a good note.  Dr. W. pulled us into his office for the usual pre-transfer briefing, and before we had even sat down, he matter-of-factly stated that we only had one remaining embryo out of my 4 that were doing well last Friday.  "So, Joanna, we'll just transfer the one today, Joanna."  He likes to use my name copiously in every conversation.  Josh and I joke abo...

365 Project, week 4

A pretty normal week for us again!  We had lots of everyday moments in preparation for an out-of-the-ordinary week to come.  Here's how it looked:   Daddy time in the evening often involves an episode of Bonanza.  Little Joe is a favorite around here! Bath time for Seth.  Maybe it's because he's my second child, but I do not have anywhere near the amount of baby gear I had with Noah.  Baby bathtub? Nowhere in sight.  It's Kitchen Sink City for us!  For this reason, you may not see an actual bath picture, because it takes all my hands to hold on to Seth in the sink.  If I ever have a helper, we may see good future blackmail bath time photos. :) One afternoon Noah and I took his after-school snack to the dock.  Handi-snacks, anyone?  I, for one, love that they still come with the little red stick for spreading, just like when I was his age!
